Large Time Asymptotics for Solutions of Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations
2

Large Time Asymptotics for Solutions of Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations A large number of physical phenomena are modeled by nonlinear partial differential equations, subject to appropriate initial/ boundary conditions; these equations, in general, do not admit exact solution. The present monograph gives constructive mathematical techniques which bring out large time behavior of solutions of these model equations. These approaches, in conjunction with modern computational methods, help solve physical problems in a satisfactory manner. The asymptotic methods dealt with here include self-similarity, balancing argument, and matched asymptotic expansions.

Breaking the Barrier to Upward CommunicationBreaking the Barrier to Upward Communication

Much has been written about communicating within organizations but relatively little on the critical skill of communicating upward. Green and Knippen, experts in employee motivation and performance, show how essential it is to the success of an organization, public or private, for employees to get their ideas up the ladder and into the hands of the decision-makers. Their book outlines more than 40 specific upward communication needs and offers a structure that will ensure that the movement of ideas upward actually takes place.
