* My 5 year old son, 2 year old daughter and their friends (with some
help of my husband and/or me) have spent many an hour folding and
flying these airplanes. True there are only 3 planes, but that hasn't
stopped them from folding them over and over with different types of
paper. I recommend this as a great stocking stuffer for any age kid,
girl or boy!
* For the same money, you should get Quick and Easy
Paper Planes that Really Fly, by Paul Jackson. This book has many more
models and clear, easy instructions. My son already knew how to build
the three planes in this foldout.
English for Me! Rainy Day Picnik
Grades Pre-K and K. Children love to listen to storybooks. Children see and hear the English they've learned come alive through storybook characters. Hearing and reading the storybooks will enhance the English they use in and outside of the classroom. Each of the nine storybooks has suggestions for before, during, and after reading the story as well as an activity specific to each book. The nine storybook themes correlate to the Balloons series, or can be used to supplement any program.
Lively short rhymes compare and contrast 'big' 'small' and other
opposites, with bright illustrations by the Fernandes 4 accompanying
the rollicking rhymes. Kids receive a fun picturebook which teaches
basic concepts of size and space.
The best thing about all of the Wee Sing books is that the singing is done by children for children. The choice of songs is quite comprehensive, including patriotic selections as well songs from our American history. The songs tell the story of the struggles and successes of our young country.
